About this deal

Om du har frågor kring hur du använder din Boss-produkt, vänligen se vår kunskapsdatabas för svaren till de vanligaste frågorna.

You want your looper pedal to last you a long time, so choose one that you’re not going to outgrow. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. The build of the RC 600 is worlds away from that of the RC 505 MK2. The RC 600 is made of all-metal, while the RC 505 MK2 makes do with plastic. Most likely because the RC 600 (being a foot-based looper) will take more of beating. As you will read next, a better comparison is the RC-3 and the RC-5. Read about the RC-5 below before you decide on either one.The RC 600 comes with far superior effects. So much so that if effects are what you’re after in a looper, we’d say this makes an upgrade to the 600 worth it alone. In this guide, I’ll go through each of the above pedal’s features and explain who each pedal may or may not suit.

Another small difference between the RC 600 and the RC 300 is that it no longer gives you an AUX input. All of which means that you’ll likely have to spend more money on adapters. Something to bear in mind. In this guide, we will show you how to register, set up, and connect a BOSS RC-600 looper pedal for the first time. Follow the sections below to get started. To not upset any grumpy sound technicians, the RC-600 features a stereo Main Output and x2 Stereo Sub Outputs. As well as being able to control the inputs, you can assign the Outputs with the same level of control too. You can have x3 stereo groups, x6 individual mono outputs or a mixture of both, giving you the most control possible. If you’re looking for a simple looper and you don’t need the extra features in the other loop station models, compare this pedal against the RC-3 and RC-5 to decide which is right for you. The BOSS RC-500 was released in 2020 and while the name implies that it’s a bigger and better pedal than the RC-300, it definitely doesn’t look it at first. There are some minor issues that persist, though. In particular, many report breaking the buttons, and they do seem more flimsy than on other pedals, like the Ditto X4 or the Electro-Harmonix 22500. You really don’t expect this from Boss, but you get the sense that the build quality is worse than usual.

That’s because the Boss RC 600 isn’t just designed for making music or jamming in your bedroom. Oh no – just like the Boss RC 505 MK2, it’s also geared towards performance. So much so that before even considering this looper, it’s a good idea to see how it fits into a live setting. Reason being that, if you’re considering (or have already bought) an RC 300 – this looper’s predecessor – then you may want to rethink your strategy.

The size is much better. I never needed the expression pedal, so I'm glad that's gone. I much prefer the setup of having the option, rather than forcing it on you. Assignable footswitches: what makes this interesting is that each footswitch can be controlled with tap, double-tap, or hold. This gives you three possible ways you can assign functions to every footswitch. This is a great feature that should allow you to customize your pedal to suit your own needs.

Hopefully, this guide covered enough for you to make an informed decision on whether any of these loop stations are right for you. Extra Looper Pedal Resources With the RC 300 you get just 3 hours of total recording time. Not a lot when compared to the 13 hours you get with the RC 600!! Another additional feature of the Boss RC 600 is that it gives you both mic & master compression. All of which makes the sounds you get out of this looper a lot more level and even. Great news if you’re using your looper as part of music production. The RC-5 is the same size as the two above pedals, but you’ll instantly notice a big change with the pedal’s interface as shown below. If you want something compact, but you don’t want to sacrifice features, the RC-5 is hands-down the best choice.

Support

If you’re a live performer looking for a solid range of features, the choice is tough between the RC-5 and other units such as the RC-10R, RC-30, or RC-500. BOSS RC-3 vs RC-5 In addition to this you can also route your audio however you wish, thanks to three stereo outputs, a USB port for integrating with your favourite software, and much more besides.
