About this deal

They were commonly used before liquid detergent shampoos and conditions were invented in the 1940s. All these bars are Plastic-free, Paraben-free, Vegan-friendly, Cruelty-free and Hand-made in the UK. If you deal with greasy roots and product buildup, we recommend getting your hands on this shampoo bar. It works to rid your hair and scalp of excess oil and buildup, and the soap-free formula is safe for color-treated hair, too. It lathered nicely—just like a traditional bar soap would—and we really liked that it provided a squeaky-clean result. Just be aware that we did find it to be so effective at cleaning that it could be a little bit stripping on the scalp and slightly drying on the ends. We’d recommend it to people with balanced or oily hair because you likely won't feel stripped, especially considering that the formula contains hydrating argan and castor oils. After cleansing with this shampoo and using a deep conditioner, we were truly impressed with the results. If you’re looking for a shampoo bar that will provide a deep clean, this is the one for you. Some now even come with a handy rope built in to allow you to hang it dry after use. Genius! Your water: If your hair does not seem to be adjusting to the shampoo bars, it may be due to your water. Hard water makes it more difficult to rinse natural shampoo from your hair. As our curing bars sit and wait for a new home, they will continue to lose water weight and shrink a bit

From how to use one to how to store it, here’s our complete guide When it comes to personal hygiene, there are bar soap people and body wash people. But even if you’re typically a liquid soap or shampooperson, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised by the performance and convenience of a shampoo bar. “Shampoo bars are a solid form of shampoo usually made from a blend of raw or plant-based ingredients like oils," explains stylist April Kayganich, owner of The Curl Whisperer Salon in Austin, Texas. Typically made without sulfates and other harsh detergents that are common in liquid formulas, shampoo bars are usually gentler on your hair—and many are quite hydrating, too. Some customers have reported that they needed to continue using their traditional conditioner for a while and then were able to slowly wean off of it. I say, whatever works for you! It is very important to work the shampoo into your scalp with water and really build up a good lather so there are no patches of shampoo left on your hair. Choose your shampoo bar based on your hair type, knowing that coloring hair may change its texture.
