We will begin with the face and hair outline of this character in this first step of our guide on how to draw Elsa. The easiest way to paint the hair strands in the braid is to use a small flat (or filbert) brush. To add volume to the hair I work with normal yellow and then I add some finishing touches with a bright yellow color. While Christmas gigs are almost over and you most probably won’t be requested to paint any snowmen or reindeers until next winter, I decided to present you a tutorial for a design that will keep you booked the whole year!

I felt that the opposition to the braid side needed some swirly decorations for balance, so I decided to add a couple of swirls and teardrops on my left cheekbone. Then I added some highlights with white to the braid. These details will be mainly contained to her hair, and you can begin by drawing lots of curving lines throughout all parts of it.I chose brown to paint the facial features and you’ll also see in the next step that I decided to use it for the outline. Once you have drawn these aspects, you will be ready for those final details as we move on to step 5 of the guide! Step 5 –Add the final details to your Elsa drawing To create a 1 Stroke crown, brush it on by creating a series of petal like strokes around the forehead and then add details with a round brush, like swirls, twirls, tear drops and icicles, and even snowflakes and flowers.
