If the voltage is too high or too low, it can lead to premature bulb failure or reduced light output. By testing the voltage output, you can determine if the ballast is delivering the correct amount of power to the bulb. If only one HID bulb went out, then you’d be almost certain that that particular bulb has burnt out and needs to be replaced. If this is the case, simply proceed straight to taking that bulb out and inspecting it. Replace the HID bulb as required and it should fix your problem.
