About this deal

Steel scaffold towers are a very useful access solution where a ladder is not practical or safe to use due to the nature of the task. If you have a DIY or construction job coming up that will require you to work at height for longer than 30 minutes, we think you’ll find our range of scaffold towers very useful. Why buy scaffold towers from us?

This particular steel tower has a working height of 23 feet 6 inches or 7.2 metres. With the last frame providing the guardrail, the platform has a height of 17 feet or 5.2 metres. Steel is a stronger raw material than aluminium so will be sturdier than many cheaper aluminium towers. With an unrivalled selection of optional accessories, the Classic Tower range can solve almost any access problem. Our steel scaffold towers are made in our UK workshop from top quality British Steel. We also have a wide range of scaffolding tower components and accessories ALL Scaffolds & Towers Domestic Towers STEEL Scaffold Towers ALLOY Scaffold Towers Industrial Towers The four base plates are adjustable so can be easily adjusted on uneven ground. The castors or wheels are an optional extra but make for easy movement on flat surfaces. Let’s begin with the basic EN 1004 mobile access tower – a straightforward but versatile piece of access equipment. By definition, an EN 1004 mobile access tower is a freestanding, single bay structure with four legs and wheels (so that it’s mobile). It has only one working platform at a time and can reach a maximum platform height of 8m outdoors and 12m indoors. They’re generally made of aluminium or GRP (fibreglass).

Available in five useful base sizes - 4' x 2'6", 4' x 4', 6' x 2'6", 6' x 4' and 6' x 6', Towers can solve almost any access problem. Our scaffold towers feature two wheels to facilitate moving. The bracing is fully colour coded, which facilitates erection and ensures that the tower is correctly assembled and braced. We also furnish stabiliser bars with a footprint that's larger than our competitors'. We're pleased to offer our popular aluminium tower with ultra strong 40mm diameter tubing that delivers exceptional strength. Assembly is quite simple and straightforward. The tower comes in 4 sizes and can be used indoors as well as outdoors. It has a maximum safe working load of 150kg. The platform is adjustable in 300mm increments. End height adjustment is included. This means the tower can be deployed on stairs. Finally, the tower comes from an ISO 9001:2008 manufacturer. The ISO 9000 set of standards represent international agreement on a set of quality standards. The result? Better products and better accountability. This tower offers great value for the price. IMPORTANT: 4’ x 4’ and 6’ x 4’ towers with platform height over 12' 6" should be securely tied-in to building (or over 22’ 6” when set of outriggers is fitted). 4’ x 2’ and 6’ x 2’ towers - tie-in all towers over 6ft platform height (or over 15ft when outriggers fitted). As well as our range of standard-sized access towers, we can also create bespoke, custom-size scaffold towers to any specification. We can work closely with our clients during the design process to ensure that they get a product that suits their needs, and their budget!

A scaffold tower (also called an access tower) enables someone to work at height more safely than when using a ladder. Scaffold towers can be used inside buildings for a variety of tasks such as painting a ceiling, plastering, accessing a hard to reach area or working at height with heavy or awkward items. Outside tasks where a scaffold tower might be useful include roofing, external painting, rendering, working on gutters, repairing windows plus many more DIY tasks. The sections and components are lightweight but engineered to be extremely strong, hard wearing and easy to assemble. With a handrail all around the working platform, towers offer a much safer alternative to ladders or steps. Although a scaffold tower may take a little longer to assemble (please see our help section), it can greatly reduce your chance of falling from height compared to a ladder and would be more suitable when a ladder cannot safely be used. Choose the required Base Size for your tower. Consider if you will need to assemble it down narrow paths or down the side of your house. Remember if you choose a narrow base width (2’6”) then it will be less stable and will require stabilisers (outriggers) even at lower heights unless you can ‘tie-in’ to the building.

Especially if stored outside or typically near coastal areas where moisture or water can contain salt. For that reason, most, if not all will be a Galvanised scaffold tower.Scaffold towers are freestanding and self-supporting, so they don't need to lean against a wall or building. With a handrail all around you, Classic Scaffold Towers offer a much safer alternative to ladders or steps and can be used with confidence for External & Internal Decorating, Gutter Cleaning and General Maintenance, and are extremely useful in the garden for hedge cutting and tree trimming. Domestic DIY Towers are wonderfully versatile and give greater safety than ladders for outdoor house maintenance, indoor painting (including stairwells), hedge trimming, tree pruning etc. There are many situations when an access tower / scaffold tower could be a more appropriate solution than a ladder, both for safety reasons and for ease of use during a lengthy task. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines suggest that ladders should be used when it is a low-risk situation, the task will take no more than 30 minutes and the ladder will be level and stable while in use. Cantilever Adjustable Legs (sold in a pair) are also available to help assemble your tower on a Sloping or flat roof to access the roofline above extensions and porches.
