There is so much conditioning and binary thinking about alcohol that can make it very challenging for a person who wants a different relationship with alcohol to make sustainable change. First thing I found was Alcohol Lied To me! I thought “What a Silly Name for a book- alcohol doesn’t talk to you. It doesn’t have a way TO lie to you! Ridiculous!” I have not had a single sip of poison since the night before I found that book. I have zero desire for it. I will never again partake in the Norm of alcohol! Forgive the length, but it is necessary to give the history along with how I ultimately came to find your book on the internet. I read that book and a switch was flipped in my thinking, in my beliefs, in the deepest part of my soul I changed. Just like that!

So I decided to look for a pill to help take some of the load. Even though I’m allergic to most meds out there I didn’t care. I needed help in some way and a pill was a perfect answer in my thinking. The author and reader transmits all the passion while reading. I am extremely happy to have read this book. I almost cried when it finished. His brother, my grandfather, never found that freedom and ultimately killed himself driving off a mountain drunk. I don’t know when my mother started drinking, but I imagine it was pretty young. I do know of stories from my father he started in his late teens. PERFORMANCE - The writer is a great motivational speaker and does a good job reading his own work. He has a pleasant British accent. not moderated or reviewed by doctors and so you should not rely on opinions or advice given by other users inSurprisingly helpful book. I did not like the way the author described himself, ‘Stop drinking expert’, somewhat egotistical I thought. But in spite of that I did find the book helpful as a way to cut down significantly on alcohol consumption, and hopefully give it up altogether.

I appreciate that Craig does not go on abou the value of AA and he also does not take a religious stance. But he spends a lot of time saying the same things over and over again, one of the most significant of which is, When you're done reading this book you're going to agree with me that alcohol tastes terrible, that it's a harmful poison, and that there's really no good reason to drink. Apparently a number of people have found this approach useful but I don't. Well, I had 2, plus the wine, and I was quite loose, quite drunk, making quite a fool of myself! I drove home! I also called my husband on the way home and lied to him when he started in on me on driving while drunk! Nope I said, Im not, I only had a glass of wine. BULLSHIT! I found this audiobook to be engaging, intriguing, and thought provoking, until I reached chapter 13 and learned that the "cure" was largely based on combination of supplements.
