This is a really interesting concept for a story because it follows not only the perspective of the police working on a serial killer case, but also the perspective of a psychologist who has found himself involved in the case. Kit is a determined, hardworking cop who is motivated by the murder of her foster sister to solve as many cold cases as possible to give families closure like she didn’t get. Sam is a psychologist who does lots of charity work and seems like an all round Good Samaritan. One of his patients disclose information connected to a serial killer that leaves him feeling unsettled, and he gets pulled into this case and even finds himself as a suspect.

Very fast read and super entertaining. It *is* about a serial killer who does bad things to young women/girls, so it’s not all bubble gum and flowers – definitely some tough subject matter. But it still manages to somehow be a light read. Cold Blooded Liar is the first book in Karen Rose’s new San Diego Case Files series. It was my first time reading something from Karen Rose but it definitely won’t be the last! I read along with the audiobook and Hillary Huber did a great job with the narration! I'd expect nothing less. I love this author's writing. Each book is like meeting up with old friends.
