Set up of the game is much like most other board games, with dice, playing pieces and start and finish points on the board. But as well as progressing by throwing the dice, there are also colour coded booklets relating to each of the history sections marked upon the board. In short, the object of the game is to go through history from the stone age to the present day. As you play, this fun yet educational board game takes you through the ages of man. Plus we love finding out about the people and places from the past. And as history fans, one of our favourite things as a family is ‘Horrible Histories’. The brilliant award winning Horrible Histories series of books and the children’s TV show of the same name are a great way to learn so much about how humans have lived throughout the ages. With all the gory and unpleasant bits left in. So when we found out that there is a board game out now for the whole family to play, we couldn’t wait to play it too. Here is our Horrible Histories Board Game review. As a family we love to play board games and card games. Without a doubt they are a brilliant activity for the colder darker evenings that are on the way as autumn starts drawing in. And although Elizabeth isn’t quite old enough to play this game just yet, we know that this game will likely be a firm favourite once she starts learning more history at school. It’s a history lesson like no other! How Is The Game Played?It would be lovely to revisit the 60s, times were hard but the towns and cities were buzzing and it was great to be able to visit a doctor and even better to be able to ring someone without having to be 20th in the queue. Horrible Histories The Board Game is aimed at children age 8 and upwards and can be played with 2 to 4 players. Some of the content might not be suitable for younger children and without some knowledge of history they might struggle to answer any questions, although they are multiple choice and I would imagine people have to guess most of the time anyway. Game contains: There are plenty of questions so you can probably play it a huge number of times and still get asked something new. Even if you don't it's a good thing if they remember the answer because it means they have actually learnt some history! The first person to make it to the present day and correctly answer a question chosen by the other players wins!

Great online store for board games. They always arrive perfectly and undamaged which is important to me. Horrible Histories Vikings history – choose your Norse god or goddess and complete tutorials across time periods and locations.The three dice determine how the playing pieces move. Depending on what space you land on, you either True or false: British troops in World War II were issued with brown toilet rolls. (Answer true, basically for camouflage) As you see, we also enjoyed dressing up whilst playing. It’s not necessary, but it did add to the drama! Where can you buy the fun yet educational Horrible Histories game? Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend.
