This is a key feature missing from the Cloud Earbuds. The most impressive attribute of the HyperX Cloud Earbuds is its gaming audio for mobile gaming. I used it mostly for PUBG Mobile sessions on the Samsung Galaxy S10 and OnePlus 6T (using a Type-C converter) and the audio is impressively good for such games. You can hear footsteps, gunshots, explosions and similar sounds pretty crisply. What makes it good for gaming is its lightweight nature and wired setup as it reduces latency and doesn't rely on the battery for power. Its plug and play feature makes it a better choice for gamers who want to play games remotely without worrying about the battery.

The HyperX Cloud Earbuds is a step in the right direction. It's slightly expensive for the Indian market, especially because it's dedicated to gaming and wired. If you're willing to spend Rs 5,999 on an earbud specifically for gaming, make sure the difference it makes is justifiable for the extra you spend in it. The length is perfect for mobile devices. It doesn’t tangle very easily as well, which is supposedly the objective of the flat cable design in the first place.With the rise of mobile gaming in recent years, it seems only wise to keep up with the changing times. That’s why it’s only a matter of time for the well-known gaming peripheral brand, HyperX, to release its own gaming earbuds— the HyperX Cloud Earbuds. But while they show promise in portability, many are still hesitant to make the switch from over-ear headsets to gaming earbuds. Since then, HyperX has been providing a variety of PC, console, and wireless headsets that meet the rigorous demands of gamers, which give them the winning edge and help them stay on top of their game. One major difference between the Cloud Earbuds and the Turtle Beach Battle Buds is the removable boom mic. This is a unique design feature that really makes the Battle Buds stand out in the competition. But the boom mic advantage seems to end at the design. Compared to the HyperX Cloud Earbuds, the Battle Buds’ boom mic actually falls short in quality because of the echo and high sensitivity.

I’m not kidding — there are a lot of situations where cutting that last wire has had a surprisingly significant effect. I no longer get wires caught under the barbell when I’m doing squats at the gym, for example. I also don’t have to worry about getting tangled up when I’m putting on/taking off outerwear or bags. (That’s not to say they don’t present new problems — my Airpods fly out of my ears and ping pong across the floor every single time I remove a mask, no matter how cautious I am.) The Cloud MIX Buds have omni-directional mics, which are…okay. People were able to hear my voice clearly over video and voice calls, but I’m very loud and my friends pointed out that it didn’t sound nearly as good as when I use a headset with a boom mic. I was also able to take calls on the street without issue, but the mics don’t have any built-in active noise canceling and the people on the other end of the line could definitely hear what was going on around me. Software for the HyperX Cloud MIX Buds Despite that, I didn’t observe any instances of my voice cutting off. There’s a slight reverb to it though.The HyperX Cloud Gaming Earbuds are somewhat in the budget range of earphones when compared to in-ear monitors. Of course, as a pair of gaming earbuds, you’d expect the additional features of a microphone, in-line controller, and customization. In-ear monitors focus primarily on sound quality and save expenses by not adding all the extras. So, how do the HyperX Cloud Gaming Earbuds fair in terms of sound quality? A little more versatility with an included Y-cable would have been preferable, but for handheld gaming consoles, they work just fine. Build Quality IEMs don’t usually look like they’re made for gaming, but somehow the HyperX has managed to do just that. Cable The unique cable of the Cloud Buds As expected from HyperX, they did not disappoint in sound quality. The 20-20kHz frequency matches well with crisp mids and decently-rounded highs.
