The smart TV platform hasn’t been given a huge overhaul compared to its predecessor, but it does come with some new, family-friendly features that make it easier for everyone in the household to enjoy a personalized experience.The LG G1 was one of last year’s very best and most desirable TVs, and the C2 is better and more affordable. It not only helps to create a better sense of the environment the characters are in, but produces more depth and detail than the Sony. If this is Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail at work, then there are gains from having it included. Ghostbusters: Afterlife looked stunning with excellent dynamic range performance and shadow detail retrieval adding real depth and realism to the image quality. It doesn’t quite go as bright in the highlights as the G2 is capable of showing, but you really would only notice this in comparison. The big news is that, unlike its predecessor, the C2 is designated as an ‘OLED Evo’ model, which means it uses the latest, brightest OLED panel technology. The result of the stand’s more compact form means it’s easier to slip cables from a soundbar beneath the TV’s frame. The Magic Remote is the same as last year, and remains the best controller on the market, with an onscreen pointer that makes navigating the TV intuitive and fun. There are direct access buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and Rakuten TV, along with activation buttons for the built-in Alexa and Google assistants.
