About this deal

More recently, I've used motor oil, thinned with diesel or kerosene to the point where it can be sprayed with one of those cheapo trigger-action hand sprayers, though a proper cavity sprayer would probably be better. Rustproof your car with ease with Hammerite's Waxoyl Pressure Sprayer. It offers a continuous pressured, pump action spray to give you a simple, fast and effective coverage. The new and improved sprayer offers multiple spraying options, including an extension hose and probe for those awkward-to-reach areas such as chassis rails and inner sills.

Rustbuster is a registered trade mark of Rustbuster Ltd, registered in the UK Trademark number 2211446 Class 02 & 37. The rubber seals are also protected from the harsh environment under the car to give peace of mind for this often neglected part of the car. Hardwax provides superior corrosion protection for all types of vehicles and exterior metal structures. I’ve decided to use POR15, based on lots of advice on here. I bought some last year before I had the gunge put on, but didn’t use it, seemed too much like hard work. So I’m writing this whilst having a cup of coffee, after having used it today. I followed the instructions to the letter, POR Degreaser first, followed by Etch primer, and finally the first thin coat of POR 15… looks good so far and the next coat goes on in a couple of hours.

As you point out, the second problem is that an overdose of waxoyl hides any deterioration that is present.

I've researched an absolute ton of rustproofing products, including Waxoyl and Dinitrol. There's also one called POR-15. Most specialists seem to use Waxoyl. Everyone recommends different products based on what has worked for them, so its really hard to decide on which is best. tin worm still keeps on gnawing away at the metal underneath. The covering of waxoyl takes away to main accelerators I would guess - damp air and salt.... by yeah I agree, cant see it being 100% effective at isolating the metal from nature.I concur. I just cant see how waxoil would keep things airtight. We then inject via pressure sprayer to internal bodywork and chassis cavities. We will if required drill and bung cavities as required, only with you express permission for areas which have no I also had the real benefit that SWMBO was out so I had since 3.00pm been shoving the 2 gallon cans into the sink with near boiling water. I should have known things were going to go “slightly wrong” when I started. I think you can do just as good a job as the pro's but it is horrible filthy and a lengthy process to get in all the seams, holes, doors bonnet boot etc and box sections.Compressor and parafin sprayer were used to spray in every hole, gap, opening and then to cover every surface...... If it rains, make sure you don't have wet carpets from drip/leaks from the hood, otherwise you can find the rear floor rotting from the inside.
