While a somewhat questionable premise, this ends up being a pretty cute and semi-wholesome manga. YES, there is fan service elements, but you can tell that from the cover. (There are much more obvious ones during the story!) Next is her daughter, she starts out very nice and sweet. I liked her no bs vibe, until the love triangle comes, she becomes very disrespectful to her mother, and I don't like how instead of treating her as a mother, she treats her as her rival now, even after all she's done for her. If she wants them to get together so bad, then bruh no need to force this bs. And yet people treat her like a saint when she has her own faults too. When Ayako's sister and brother-in-law die in an accident, she's the only person willing to take in her orphaned niece Miu. Now, ten years later, Miu is a spritely fifteen and Ayako is feeling old in her early thirties. She doesn't mind, though – after all, she loves Miu, and it even looks like the young man next door has a crush on her! But as it turns out, he does have a crush on someone in the house…it just isn't Miu! Precocious Crush: Takkun has had a crush on Ayako since he was a kid, but by now it's blossomed into real love.

tl;dr - All potential material has been written over giving you only a shallow rendition of what could but shouldn't be. Childhood Marriage Promise: Subverted. While in kindergarten, Miu made one with Takkun. By the time she is a teenager, having grown up together, she says that she simply cannot see him in a romantic way. Single-Target Sexuality: In chapter 11, Takkun admits he hasn't even been interested in other women except for Ayako for a long timePlease Dump Me: More like "please don't fall in love with me". Ayako tries several times to make herself look unattractive and irresponsible to Takkun, but he sees through her every time.

She and Takumi don’t seem like much of a match, until it becomes apparent that Takumi has shaped a lot of his life based on her advice. They finally get some actual chemistry towards the end when they nerd out over anime, which is the story at its most charming (though you had best believe the breasts are flying in that story too). Nothing special aside from the attraction to another person who differ a lot in age. Ayako is trying to be a serious mother. Takumi is trying to look like a serious adult. They're failing at it in a funny way. You can figure out the rest. A hilarious manga! It was pretty adorable and sweet that he didn’t waver from his first love. I love that he could also understand Ayako’s opinions on the matter and that he was respectful. That he didn’t go too far, that he let her think about it, and that they even had conversations on the matter. Because he really wanted to give this a chance. We got a potential spicy rom com going on. Though I think that's pretty obvious with a name like You Like Me, Not My Daughter!? Ayako has put her adoptive daughters life before her own for the past decade. But Takumi, a college student, confessing his feelings for Ayako. Her world is sent spinning.
