About this deal

Good question! And one I get all the time from other parents who ask me about our FollowMe on our weekend bike tours (which happens pretty often, more on that later). If you do a lot of bike commuting in an urban environment, the FollowMe Tandem is an excellent solution for biking with kids. It keeps them safe in traffic, and gets them home once they’ve tired of riding their own bike. Additionally, there is a 45 kg (99 lb) weight limit, including both your child and their bike. My son is 50 pounds and rode the 20-inch 19 lb Batch Bicycle with the FollowMe for a total of 69 pounds. I genuinely love winter mountain biking. Here are the items that help me maintain my loving relationship with The Filth. Now, Chris is the mechanically minded one in our marriage, and he’d fitted the component parts to his mountain bike and the bike T will one day be riding (when he’s mastered the technique).

FollowMe Tandem review: The Verdict

Install it and also attach the included strap for storing the folded FollowMe to your saddle. Parent’s bike with completed FollowMe installation… Step 2: Prepare Your Kid’s Bike Wow, that was an extensive review! But then again the FollowMe Tandem is not something that you can explain in just a couple of minutes. It’s a pretty complex invention, and if you want to grasp all the ins and outs and do it justice, it just needs some time to explain everything. But then again: That’s probably what you came for, right?

Royal Mail 24 or DPD. Royal Mail have indicated that the last day for Royal Mail 24 should be the 16th, but Also, make sure that your kid wears sunglasses at all times, because everything that you throw in the air with your tires may potentially hit your kid in the face (that is true when riding on roads as well). We love that the FollowMe Tandem, unlike a trailer-cycle, allows your child to ride their own bike for much of your outing. Kids can start out on their own bicycle and then hook up when they get tired or when you get to a higher traffic area. as DPD or TNT/Fedex. All couriers are experiencing some delays at the moment so nothing is guaranteed, butT loved being able to pedal – he’s used to sitting in a front or rear seat, so I was impressed to see that he was pedalling all the time.

The sense of freedom to ride much more freely than I’ve been able to with the kids in tow has been amazing. Because it folds forward when not in use, it’s also easier to ride with solo than a trailer-cycle. This makes it good for hauling a kiddo to school, and then riding home alone. And vice versa at the end of the day. Better Stability Than Traditional Trailer-Cycles The FollowMe tandem is immensely useful for a specific niche of time when you have a small child that can ride a bike without training wheels, but maybe isn’t confident or strong enough to ride the distances that their parents can. The FollowMe tandem is a coupling device that joins parent and child bikes together to create a 3-wheeled tandem. The child continues to pedal their bike, but is tethered behind their parent. The two bikes can be coupled and uncoupled as terrain and distance dictates. It’s perfect for school drop-offs, family outings to the city park, or even long distance touring. You can plan much longer bike tours and can go faster with your kids attached to your own bike and riding “as a team” rather than riding slowly next to them.

so is the FollowMe Tandem worth the money?

After finishing the set up and ensuring all bolts were tightened correctly, I headed out for a shake down ride (without a passenger) to confirm that I’d set everything up right and nothing was going to fall off and bounce down the road. And what a ride it was. The bike felt extremely stable with the Islabike hooked up, with no noticeable rattles as I bumped along pothole ridden roads.
