So, how’s life treating you?’ he asks. The smile that follows is warm and friendly. The other two – Reuben and Harry – have already greeted her and are now standing next to them, leaning over the bar engaged in a heated debate about something medical she won’t even try to make sense of. The Other Husband by Kathryn Croft is without a doubt the optimal example of be careful what you wish for there are no free rides. He’s been having some trouble at school,’ Greg says, ‘fighting with some boys in his class who’ve been bullying him.’ Would I recommend this book yes. I find it to be an interesting read not only the psychological thriller aspects of it, but the domestic thriller aspects of it as well. I enjoyed both of the characters they seemed very realistic along with these extra characters in the book as well. I suppose the books greatest guift of leaving us with questions also became a little frustrating for me when I was over halfway through the book and still didn’t know what they knew and that in itself does lower the score for me. I rare this book three stars but I still highly recommend it it is very good easy read. As of 2019, Audrey has confirmed that she is still working on the sequel, telling The Star: "Well, the interesting part is that the book is still not finished… [Alba] was born just before 9/11, in 2001, so today she would be 18. I've been spending a lot of time thinking about the news as it blows past us and extrapolating from what's going on today and what might be happening decades from now. It's part of what slows me down, how depressing the news has been for the past few years."

It’s clear that she won’t get much more from him, so she gives up. ‘Do you want to watch Netflix while you wait for your mum?’ This isn’t much better than his iPad, but at least there’ll be some noise in the room, drowning out the excruciating silence. Outside, rain hammers against the ground, an almost soothing distraction, the weather matching the situation as though they are characters in a literary novel. This book had me guessing right up until the very last chapter ... I couldn't put it down. A perfect thriller! ' NetGalley review And, wow I didn't see the plot twists coming in this story. I was even wrong with what I thought had happened. Don't you just love when authors write in a way where the meaning could mean different things. After years of reading thrillers, you would think I would get used to it now.Niffenegger collaborated with Wayne McGregor on a balletic fable, Raven Girl (2013), performed at the Royal Opera House in London in 2013, 2015. [13] He’s great. Doing well at school.’ She makes it sound like she knows this first-hand, yet all she’s doing is relaying what Greg passes on. ‘He was with me after school this afternoon, as Holly had something she needed to do.’ This makes it sound as though she knows Holly well, as if they are friends who are aware of each other’s movements. Sienna hopes that by mentioning her, Marty might reveal something – anything – about the woman. He’d known her well when she and Greg were married, so it stands to reason that he’d be someone who could share some information. Sienna just has to be careful how she approaches it; everyone knows that Greg is reluctant to talk about his previous marriage. Niffenegger has degrees from the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University. [4] As an undergraduate student at the Art Institute of Chicago, Niffenegger created her own book arts major combining etching, letterpress arts and bookbinding. [3] Her first project was called The Adventuress, which she self-described as "a novel In pictures". Niffenegger's second novel in pictures was titled The Three Incestuous Sisters which she created while completing her M.F.A. at Northwestern. [4] These two novels in pictures were subsequently published by Harry N. Abrams. The Three Incestuous Sisters was published in 2005 and tells the story of three unusual sisters who live in a seaside house; the book has been compared to the work of Edward Gorey. One night Sienna comes up with an idea for the women to swap husbands for the night - this results in their lives being changed forever from events that unfolded. One of the husbands goes missing and one of the women will stop at nothing to find out what has happened to him. When Abby and Sienna swap husbands for a night, it sets into motion a series of events that may destroy everything. There was plenty of the authors magic in the book but it failed to fully connect with me. Fast paced and interesting as always but a little too twisty for my tastes. Sheffield Christmas lights switch-on event 'not possible' and replaced with festive weekend this year instead Kept me on the edge of my seat ... A story of secrets and lies with many twists and turns. A very enjoyable read that I read in one day as I couldn't put it down .' Goodreads Reviewer, Abby and Sienna become fast friends after meeting at a cancelled Pilates class. They start spending time together with their husbands. One night Sienna suggests that they do a wife swap type of thing just to see how the other couple lives. Nothing will ever be the same in their friendship or their marriages. The Time Traveler’s Wife is also, ironically, a product of its time. It is peppered with details from Niffenegger’s young adult years in Chicago’s art and music scene of the 80s, and steeped in the experiences of people who grew up in the 70s, giving it a specific appeal to GenX readers who were briefly ascendent as a trend-making demographic in the late 90s-early 2000s.
