About this deal

If someone makes a will but it is not legally valid, the rules of intestacy decide how the estate will be shared out, not the wishes expressed in the will. Couples may also have joint bank or building society accounts. If one dies, the other partner will automatically inherit the whole of the money. This is a book that is not something I would normally read, so I come to it with no expectations and previous knowledge of the author or his books. This book is a collection of the Top 10 Rules from several books that the author has written. The books cover many aspects of a person's life and how they can live it better. With an eye catching cover and lots of well organised, concise chapters; Work, Management, Life, Wealth, Parenting, Love, Rules to Break, People, Thinking, Living Well there is plenty to go at. I've never read any of Richard Templar's books before, but I was intrigued by the concept of "The Rules of Everything," so I decided to give it a go. This book is essentially a compilation of the top 10 rules from each of his previous books, covering a wide range of topics such as work, management, life, wealth, parenting, love, and more.

Ruler of Everything first appeared on Party Boobytrap in 2003 and then on Complete Demos in 2004. The song had an alternative second verse that was later taken out completely for Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum. At this point 13 did not exist or was merged with Ruler of Everything, but it still led to Hidden In The Sand like the final album version in Complete Demos. Children of the intestate person will inherit if there is no surviving married or civil partner. If there is a surviving partner, they will inherit only if the estate is worth more than a certain amount. Children - if there is no surviving married or civil partnerIf there are no surviving relatives who can inherit under the rules of intestacy, the estate passes to the Crown. This is known as bona vacantia. The Treasury Solicitor is then responsible for dealing with the estate. The Crown can make grants from the estate but does not have to agree to them. half-uncles and half-aunts. A half-cousin can inherit instead if the half-uncle or half-aunt who would have inherited died before the intestate person.

Of course, not every single rule or piece of advice will resonate with every reader. Some sections were more relevant to me than others, and there were a few points that I didn't entirely agree with. However, I think that's to be expected with a book like this that covers such a broad range of topics.

An interesting read, this is basically a book of top tips for navigating life. A compedium of fan favourites from Richard Templar's earlier 'rule' books. You may be able to apply to court for reasonable financial help from the estate of the person who has died intestate. For example, if you were living with the person who has died but you were not married to them, you would not inherit under the rules of intestacy. However, you could apply to court for financial help. You must have lived with them for at least two years immediately before their death. Another example is if you were always treated by the person who died as a child of the family. You would not inherit under the rules of intestacy but you could apply to the court for financial help. The sections in this book are - The Rules of- Work, Management, Life, Wealth, Parenting, Love, to Break, of People, Thinking, Living Well and a shorter one on Knowing When to Break the Rules.
