At 5 – 6 mm high, the 2104D will be able to get even more underneath. What can fit under a 4mm high presser foot? 8 layers of medium to heavy weight denim (each fold is 2 layers). I’m using the Brother 4234d, not 2104d.

I just want to show what can fit under a presser foot that’s 4mm+ high. Will it sew denim/upholstery fabric? It also features a switch-able knife, to cut/trim off while stitching or not. Easy lay in threading with tension release for correct threading. Adjustable stitch length control and adjustable differential feed mechanism to allow for the gathering of fabric or sewing with stretch fabric. All of the adjustable dials are on the right-hand side of the machine now compared with the older models where the dials are on the left, this enables you to adjust without having to move your sewing project out of the way to get to the dials.

(2 sets of feed dogs under the foot moving at different timing) The 2104D lets you change how hard or light the presser foot is pushing down on your fabric. This is called adjustable presser foot pressure. update: I don’t think the M343D is an old model anymore. I came across a Brother social media post in 2020 (that I can’t seem to refind) that said it was new? I’ll need to look into this more closely. Slant needle bar - allows an excellent view of the working area and means the presser foot lifts over bulky hems with ease. Also, a bright LED bulb is fitted which gives off no heat, uses less electricity and gives better lighting. Other conveniences like a built-in spreader, a more sensitive differential feed system, a more sensitive pressure adjustment dial, etc.
