About this deal

In November 2010, Slott took over The Amazing Spider-Man as the sole writer, marking the comic book's change to a twice–monthly schedule, beginning with Slott's "Big Time" storyline. [10] [11] She-Hulk was the last book (and hero) personally launched by Stan Lee, but his involvement lasted only an issue before David Kraft took over. [ Marvel Unlimited] We’re almost to the end of my airing out all the parts of the book that were incredibly uncomfortable to read, but unfortunately I’ve ended up saving the best for last. As I’ve mentioned a couple times, the humor in this book ends up feeling misogynistic because it’s about a woman but by a bunch of men. This is made infinitely worse when Slott has a character accuse She-Hulk of actually being a man. This scene is one that’s intended to be funny, but considering the misogynistic and transphobic groups that try to make these claims about women in real life – especially athletic women of color – this scene is pretty hard to read as anything well-intentioned. They first year’s worth of episodes is sitting right here in this book. Thing & She-Hulk: The Long Night (2002) #1 fits here between Avengers (1998) #44 & 46. She-Hulk (2004) begins between #76 & 78.And while the cases are great, the way Jenn comes to like being Jennifer Walters as much She-Hulk really is the heart of the story. Sure, its nice to see a hero enjoy being a superhero for once. It’s also nice to read about a hero coming to terms with who they are in their entirety. Titania, the Villain Nobody Knew Marvel Comics [ edit ] 2000s [ edit ] Slott speaking on a panel on comic book writing at the 2009 Brooklyn Book Festival. To Slott's right is Jim McCann, and to his left are Fred Van Lente and Peter David. Infinity & Inhumanity: See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Infinity & Inhumanity. She-Hulk is a main character in Infinity: The Hunt (2013) #1-2; she does not appear in 3-4. She also appears in Inhumanity: The Awakening (2014) #1-2. Onslaught: See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Onslaught. She-Hulk appears only twice in this event – in Avengers (1963) #400 and Fantastic Four (1961) #416. Also, (I know, I know, I say this about every comic I fall in love with but) this is such an easy thing to adapt into a tv show. It could be on ABC or CBS or Netflix and you have a premise right here. Just cast Jennifer Walters (Sarah Shahi would be pretty cool) and make a She-Hulk TV show. It would totally work!

She-Hulk by Dan Slott: The Complete Collection, Volume 1

Despite the sans-pronoun title, this is a Jen-starring series without Bruce in sight. She-Hulk takes on a grey color and the Hulk mantle in the wake of Civil War II. [ Marvel Unlimited] Infinity Gauntlet (1991): See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Infinity Gauntlet. Effectively, She-Hulk’s participation in this event occurs just prior to John Byrne’s return to her title. She appears in issues #2-4. After issue #2, she is also in Silver Surfer (1987) #52. During issue #4 she is in Silver Surfer (1987) #54 and Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme (1988) #33.

(2015) #1 (cameo) Free Comic Book Day 2011: The Amazing Spider-Man #1, (Free Comic Book Day issue), Marvel Comics, May 2011Titania, for all intents and purposes, probably wasn’t a really deep villain before this comic, and wasn’t any time afterwards. But her origin and her hate for She-Hulk was something that actually made me feel bad for her. The Rise of Titania This is made worse by a scene where a man literally shames Jen for having slept with the Juggernaut – and rather than point out the misogynistic implications of that kind of shaming, Jen just argues that she never slept with him using petty continuity in the vein of the nerds who were gatekeeping her at that comic shop. It’s something that’s made more blatant by the all-male creative team and the way Jen’s drawn in so much of the book. Frequently it presents itself as empowering for her, but the book never shakes the sense that it’s inviting the readers to leer at the title character.

She-Hulk by Dan Slott Omnibus Vol 1 1 - Marvel Database

She-Hulk (2005) #1-38 by Dan Slott & Peter David, Civil War, & World War Hulk (Dec 2005 – Apr 2009) This book has several cameos - not knowing a ton of She-Hulk's history, I kinda assume they had some past adventures together. There's quite a bit of the Fantastic Four here and I know she was on their team. I should add, best use of Reed - he was significantly less douche-y here. Perfect amount of Dr. Strange here - he actually had some pretty amusing moments. Tony, Cap, and Wanda are here from the Avengers. There's Awesome Andy (unsure if he's a recurring Marvel character?), Two-Gun Kid, Sandman, Mad Thinker, Hercules, the Champion of the Universe, and Uatu the Watcher. There's a plot with Spider-Man where Pug (I love him!) helps Spidey with a case. There's a pretty big plot with Hawkeye towards the end of the book which I loved because he's one of my favorites!Classic premise - almost like this book was a sequel to a "call to heroism" tale, here we embark on "big success has a major comedown + a chance to learn a valuable lesson". Jen Walters gets called up just as She-Hulk takes a frog-march to the piss-stained curb. Collected with She-Hulks, directly below. Material from this anthology is also included in Deadpool & The Mercs For Money, Vol. 1 – see Guide to Deadpool. With She-Hulk’s solo series over and her membership in both Avengers and Fantastic Four lapsed, she fell into disuse as just an occasional guest star from 1994 to 1996. Jen is to work in the newly established superhuman law department. Her first case involves Danger Man and a lot of reading. Origin stories in comics, but it's technically still reading. The guy had an accident at work and was transformed into a... what's a synonim for 'hulk'? A big, strong guy. It causes issues in his personal life, so he wants to sue the company for damages. Jen finds the niche to win the case by seeing his problems through her own eyes. She-Hulk disappears from view after Onslaught, returning to regular appearances in the latter half of the Luke Cage vehicle Heroes For Hire and appears in the opening arc of the 1998 Avengers relaunch before joining in issue #27.
