The author is authentic and honest in sharing experiences of unanswered prayer in his own and others lives, which has resulted in a greater faith in God and closeness to Him. It is these stories that make it an engaging and easy read, whilst not skimping on theology and biblical references. I believe in the sun even when it isn't shining. I believe in love even when I am alone. I believe in God even when he is silent."

What, practically, do you think is needed for persevering in faith and prayer through the ‘winter seasons’ of life?An honest, soul-searching pursuit of biblical answers to one of Christianity's most challenging questions: What do you do when God meets your prayers with silence? Some prayers aren’t answered because creation is “subjected to frustration” and hast not yet been fully “liberated from its bondage to decay” (Rom. 8:20-21). Tragically, life in such an environment is inevitably going to be acutely difficult at times.”
