About this deal

There is definitely a growing feeling of confidence in the town and especially here in Harbour Street where the emerging theme is food, art and culture. The Harbourside Street Food Market combines Bristol’s best street eats with one of the city’s most scenic spots, every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. But that is changing and it is fast becoming one of the county's most vibrant locations, with the help of exciting business launches and huge new investment, including government heritage grants which are transforming the area. The street also boasts a mini supermarket, and independent butcher's, baker's, hair salon, jewellers, gift shop, ladies fashion store and a pub. It's important it is attractive and that is now happening although I don't think the gates the council has erected is encouraging people to venture up there from the harbour. The gates in Harbour Street which are causing concern for Ramsgate Society chairman John Walker

Book Bodega joins a growing number of new businesses in Harbour Street, including Days supermarket, Jah Jah Jamaican restaurant, the upcoming TLC American restaurant and the takeover of Celandine Hall by The Modern Boulangerie baker George Bellamy and his team. Opening with Mayor Raushan Ara Harbour Street has long been a sorry, depressing sight with empty premises and neglected, dilapidated buildings - completely at odds with the bustling Regency seafront, which also boasts Britain's biggest Wetherspoons. Ramsgate's stunning Royal HarbourShallow bay to front elevation, open fireplace and hearth, two alcoves with built-in low-level cupboards with shelving above, radiator, fitted carpet, access to kitchen/breakfast room: KITCHEN/BREAKFAST ROOM: - 16' 0'' x 10' 1'' (4.88m x 3.07m) Spacious Living room with two leather settees, 42" Samsung LCD TV with freeview, solid oak furniture and unrivalled harbour-views. Cleeves expertly handles the interplay among Vera - outsized both in stature and personality - her staff, and the villagers... You don't have to be a fan of the TV show...to enjoy this top-notch police procedural." Harbour Street is the sixth book in Ann Cleeves' series of crime novels about Vera Stanhope, played in the TV detective drama VERA by Brenda Blethyn.

We are hoping that these new businesses and the general improvements to the street scene will help draw people up into the town.

Even Vera thinks that she was ‘more Gosforth than Mardle from her appearance. (Gosforth was one of Newcastle’s posher suburbs.) Then, just days later, a second woman is murdered. Vera knows that to find the key to this new killing she needs to understand what had been troubling Margaret so deeply before she died - before another life is lost. She can feel in her bones that there's a link. Retracing Margaret's final steps, Vera finds herself searching deep into the hidden past of this seemingly innocent neighborhood, led by clues that keep revolving around one street... The town Mayor's optimism for the street is shared by the chairman of the Ramsgate Society, John Walker.

Ample free parking is available on Harbour Street itself or in either of the two public car parks just off Harbour Street. Newcastle was full of people and friendly, they walked arm in arm between the art galleries , crossing the tyne by the Blinking Eye Bridge.”I didn't expect the final reveal. Those cleverly disguised dead ends had me completely fooled, which is just the way I like it. But Harbour Street is one of those books that you don't want to finish, because the journey has been so engrossing and enjoyable, and I was sorry to say goodbye to Mardle." Why would such well dressed and elegant lady find herself living in Mardle and more importantly who would want to kill her?
