About this deal

The EQs are designed in the context of regular stereo use i.e. domestic environment, no warranty is provided for a near field use in a studio environment although the LW might be better suited for this purpose. Their limited variety of connections means no Bluetooth or remote control so using them beyond plugging them into your computer isn’t realistic. They also don’t have a headphone out connection and some people might find them a bit expensive. There is also a subwoofer out the connection if you wish to add one. This can really help to boost the bass and sound of the YU2 speakers as well. You won’t find a headphone out port which is a bit of a downside. Measurements that you are about to see were performed using the Klippel Near-field Scanner (NFS). This is a robotic measurement system that analyzes the speaker all around and is able (using advanced mathematics and dual scan) to subtract room reflections (so where I measure it doesn't matter). It also measures the speaker at close distance ("near-field") which sharply reduces the impact of room noise. Both of these factors enable testing in ordinary rooms yet results that can be more accurate than an anechoic chamber. In a nutshell, the measurements show the actual sound coming out of the speaker independent of the room.

These speakers are limited a bit by their overall functionality. They only come in one color and compared to the other speakers we’ve looked at here, they do look a bit plain looking. You won’t get the sophisticated walnut of the YU2’s or the elegance of the A2+, but I suppose you get what you pay for. Although these are not the most prominent speakers in the market, they produce an outstanding sound quality regardless of their size. There is nothing in the appearance of the YU2 speakers that directs your attention towards them, which is actually a good thing as they fit into any room. The manufacturer lets you choose between ten color options so that you can select the one you like the most.Kanto YU2 are not the most powerful desktop speakers on the market, as they only offer 50W RMS per channel. Nonetheless, the overall 100W power output capacity and a Class D amplifier are still enough to fill any room in your home with sound.

All Audioengine’s models including the A2+ model are covered with a 3-year limited warranty which goes to show you that each of the custom-made components meets the highest industry standards. Kanto YU2 vs Audioengine A2+ – Pros and Cons Kanto YU2 Pros Above, we have discussed the similarities between these speakers. Here are some of the dissimilarities between these products. Taking out the sound quality and performance completely, and these speakers are a great piece of kit to have based on their looks alone. Easy to set up One of the most unique features of the YU2 is the integrated DAC (digital to analog converter). This ensures optimal audio fidelity, bypassing the onboard soundcard of your computer. The result is rich and distortion-free sound. It also helps to lighten the load for your computer, resulting in streamlined performance. It also features a rear-firing bass port for pronounced and defined low-end response. The speaker's purpose is to provide you balanced sounds with a bit of emphasis on the high tones. So, adding a subwoofer will help you get your desired bass boost. You can do that easily as well. What sets this apart from the competitors? Narrowing down our topic to “which Kanto YU speaker is best for you.” I would say all of their speakers are fun to listen to and have a reliable music vibe. Unlike many other brands out there, these speakers will never hurt your ear with boozy bass or high-end sounds. Measurements are compliant with latest speaker research into what can predict the speaker preference and is standardized in CEA/CTA-2034 ANSI specifications. Likewise listening tests are performed per research that shows mono listening is much more revealing of differences between speakers than stereo or multichannel. These speakers support Bluetooth 5.0 connections, and they are compatible with aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs. Unlike some other Kanto speaker sets, the YU2’s don’t have a ton of different connectivity options.

This is something that we have come across a few times with Kanto speakers. With no headphone output connection you can’t plug headphones in unfortunately and this is a fairly big downside for some people. Are there any alternatives? Audioengine A2+

It is also the only model that is designed specifically for computers and Smartphones, as all other speakers from the YU series are bookshelf speakers that can be used with both analog and digital audio sources. These speakers are limited somewhat but their connectivity – they only offer two AUX-in connections – but for a basic set of speakers this is all you can expect. Being a music freak and a gamer myself, I can say this one truly did justice to what it says. Want to know how? Then let's get going further to unveil why and how this fulfills the need for a gaming desktop speaker. About Kanto yu2 Speaker
