I have a QNAP NAS running and I use SFTP to connect to that (in case my OVPN is down), DDWRT can also use SFTP but that also requires a client program (like WinSCP)

WiFi Routers

Impossible to installbecause of hardware limitations, meaning you can’t install DD-WRT. This is signified by a gray “not possible.”

This is what I’ve added beyond turning on the majority of the dawn features (I don’t think the broadcast command does anything): I have not verified that there is similar "use real world randomness" patch also for ath10k, but I suppose that there is one... ( @nbd likely knows that best)

Of course, right now the only reliable way to test the outer boundaries of these abilities is to link the X4S to a second X4S, since at present there is virtually no hardware designed to max-out this spec.

Although the R7800 is not being sold any more and is succeeded by the XR500 which is FCC identical and and can be regarded as a rebranded R7800 (with double the amount of Flash Ram and the new DumaOS), the R7800 is still a very capable router and can be found second hand.https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/commit/?h=linux-4.8.y&id=a9efad8b24bd22616f6c749a6c029957dc76542b Note that the Netgear Nighthawk X4S’s 2.4GHz band does display some issues towards the outer reaches of its range. Regardless of the device used, the router has a habit of disconnecting devices continually over 2.4GHz when the signal strength isn’t particularly strong. I’m sure that such issues are likely to be rectified with future firmware updates, but it makes switching from the Asus RT-AC68U unlikely. sysinit: ERROR: invalid DOS charset: 'dos charset' must not be UTF8, using (default value) ASCII instead. sysinit: install ftp://updates1.netgear.com/sw-apps/ready-genie-cloud/r7800/readygeniecloud-r7800new2-20191014.tar.gz to R/W filesystem successfully kwilt] start to get info from update-sever : https://http.fw.updates1.netgear.com/sw-apps/kwilt/r7800/

Many will be attracted to the Netgear Nighthawk X4S because of its promise of up to 1,733Mbps from its 5GHz band and 800Mbps from the 2.4GHz one. Right now, however, the only real way to see the X4S is to use a second router as a bridge, monitoring the transfer rate between the two. What most of us do is make a secure connection to our home network using VPN, via this secure connection you can connect to anything on your network including your USB storage of the router.

Business Wireless

I connected only one computer via Gigabit Ethernet at each end of the bridge. Baseline tests using Ethernet between the two computers show the Ethernet link capable of a bit over 940 Mbps in both directions with each direction run separately. So the hardwired part of the link shouldn’t be a limiting factor. The bridge R7800 reported a best case link rate of 1560 Mbps during this test. If you are building for one type of router you can change the first section of the diffconfig on github to just one device if you are building for a particular model (delete all the routers you don’t want to build for, follow the instructions below after the # sign): I applied the CPU frequency patch, but at the first glance it looks the system is not quite happy about it as there are new warnings in the kernel log. The processor started at 384 MHz, so it seems to work ok in principle. The CPU frequency scales up and down according to the load quite normally.
