About this deal

In his very first post- Crisisappearance, Savage murdered a private investigator and came an inch away from murdering Wally. It seemed that the brain trust at DC was determined to make Vandal Savage a key player in its new universe and this new version of the immortal villain dripped with menace. This is the Savage that would go on to be a major player in the new DCU as this established the immortal as a cold blooded killer who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. Vandal Savage in the 21st Century Secret Six #3-6 (2006) by Gail Simone and Brad Walker Vandal Savage appears in media set in the Arrowverse, portrayed by Casper Crump. This version originated as Hath-Set, an Egyptian priest who became immortal after being exposed to dark matter ore from Thanagarian meteorites and spent the succeeding millennia reinventing himself as Vandal Savage, hunting Prince Khufu and Priestess Chay-Ara's reincarnations to strengthen himself, and mentoring some of history's greatest conquerors, such as Per Degaton. [48] [49] Though he is unaware of it at the time, Vandar Adg had intestinal cancer when he was made immortal. This affects the cancer cells as well, preserving them and making them unable to be removed. Throughout the centuries, the cancer causes Savage great bouts of pain and discomfort. [14] In his debut story, Vandal Savage has pointed ears, possibly demonic ears, but this is not seen again in subsequent stories. Vandal Savage manipulates the Green Lantern and his secret identity Alan Scott into helping his schemes, later revealing he knows they are the same person. Vandal Savage explains that he is "one million years old" and was once a Cro-Magnon man who was the chief of his tribe. When a meteor exploded above him, strange gases affected him. He was left in a comatose state for months, then woke up as an immortal "barring accidents", no longer aging but still vulnerable to injury. Savage does not reveal his original name to the Green Lantern, but claims that over the years he has lived under many identities, including an ancient king of Sumer, the Egyptian architect Cheops, Julius Caesar, and Genghis Khan. When he realized he could still die from injury, he decided to no longer act as a public man of power and instead would serve as an advisor to powerful leaders such as Napoleon, gaining resources and political influence while others could be the target for assassination. Now in the modern-day, he wishes to become a powerful figure in the government and war industry. In the end, he is defeated when Green Lantern opens a seemingly bottomless pit beneath him, causing him to fall out of sight. [3] Curb-Stomp Battle: Vandal Savage (when he was Genghis Khan) once battled against Darkseid... and was swiftly and brutally defeated. He only managed to save the planet (temporarily) because Darkseid was impressed by his brazenness and saw potential in Earth's meta-human genes as a future investment.

Knox also share some similarities with Mr. Freeze, in that he's a low-level superhuman obsessed with keeping his wife alive at almost any cost. My hate will be everlasting. My enmity will never die. It will follow you from this life to the next and to the next and to the next." —Vandal Savage first attaining his immortality [src] High Pain Tolerance: Dr. knox was able to manually pull six bullets out of his chest with minimal discomfort. He also refered being shot with 9 millimeters bullets as "a sting".In 2016, DC Comics implemented another relaunch of its books called DC Rebirth, which restored its continuity to a form much as it was prior to "The New 52". In the new history, Vandal Savage is one of a group of five people who are made immortal by a radioactive meteorite that fell to Earth many thousands of years before recorded history. This group becomes the Council of Immortals, hoping to shape the human race from the shadows. Each of these immortals, including Savage, can share their ability to stop aging with others, creating many followers down through the centuries. Vandal Savage (born Hath-Set; before 1700 B.C. – 2021), also known under the names Curtis Knox [1] in 1958 and Sasha Mahnovski [2] in 1975, was a former ancient Egyptian priest in the service of Ramesses II who became ambitious and desired power for himself. He was also in love with the priestess Chay-Ara, but she only had eyes for Prince Khufu, and when Hath-Set learned of this, he was consumed with jealous rage. History Repeats: Vandal Savage wages a war against a race of Starfish Aliens alongside his daughter — once in ancient Babylon, and once in the modern day.

Not only has his cause of death been lost to history, but he specified that he be buried in an unknown location, in an unmarked grave. The fact that one in 200 men are theorized to be direct descendants of his is also relevant, as this episode suggests that humanity's metagene mutation originated with him, and that his offspring passed it down to their descendants. Disease Immunity: The unique regenerative qualities of Vandal Savage's healing factor also extends to his Immune System, rendering him immune to the effects of all known diseases and infections. Halo plays with a starfish on the beach. The one responsible for the inbound alien fleet is none other than Starro the Conqueror. Vandal Savage is the main antagonist of the animated series Young Justice, based on the superhero team of the same name.Conner listens to a sports channel which talks about an up-and-coming high school football player named Victor Stone from Henry Heywood High. Vandal boom tubes inside the ship, where he encounters Starro and kills it, while Cassandra uses the War World to defeat the armadas. Cassandra recalls Vandal's battle in Babylonia against Starro and how he and his daughter prevailed then, too, and became known as the Light.

In the episode he starred in, Clark told Knox they had more in common than Knox realized, a possible reference to the fact Cain previously played Superman. This new generation of JSAers were no pushovers but Savage truly took this team of champions to the limit. Now keep in mind, this was a JSA that included the Golden Age Superman, Power Girl (that’s two Kryptonians), Green Lantern, Hawkman, Flash, and so many more. And for good measure, these time-hopping issues also included King Arthur and Merlin! So, Savage almost took down mythological figures of folklore, god like aliens, and Golden Age greats all in one nefarious struggle. Sixteen years after his second comic book story, Vandal Savage returned in The Flash #137 (June 1963). This comic established he was closer to 50 thousand years old than 1 million years old, and also revealed that his original name had been Vandar Adg. After this, he became a recurring enemy to the heroes of Earth-Two and Earth-One, sometimes crossing the dimensional barrier between the two realities. Frequently, he battled the Flashes and Superman. In Action Comics #515-516 (1981), the story indicated Vandal Savage was no longer just ageless but could also heal from any physical injury, even near disintegration. The story shows Savage seemingly reduced to ash by a meteorite, but Superman concludes the villain will still return. In Action Comics #542 (1983), this is proven correct, and Savage reveals his body was able to heal and reform even from near total destruction. Cassandra recounts Vandal's first encounter with Darkseid. At the end of the 12th century, Vandal, then known as Genghis Khan, and his sons and followers fight Darkseid's forces but are outmatched. In a surprise turn of events, Darkseid expresses interest in Vandal's genetic gifts and the two form a pact to conquer the galaxy together, knowing that when that happens, Earth and Apokolips will wage a final battle to determine who is superior. Genius Intelligence: Vandal Savage is a genius with expertise in various fields of science, mainly genetics with years of his research at his command, mutations and their powers, human and alien biology, cloning, all levels of physics, engineering (including mechanical, genetic and electrical engineering) and more. His intellect has been said to match Lex Luthor and Batman and he is one of the smartest people on Earth. Savage, having lived for over 50,000 years has acquired vast knowledge over many known fields, being a formidable scientist and a talented inventor. His intellect later grew to new levels after his time with Darkseid and the advanced New God technology he had access to, mastering not only this and all technology from Earth (allowing him considerable expertise in cybernetics, robotics and computers) but also new sciences to aid him in his goals to advance the entire earth. He took the name Vandal Savage but he was banned from the Blood Tribe after losing a fight to Bruce Wayne, who was lost in time. [10] His first mark on history came when he and a select group of people successfully undermined and destroyed the lost city of Atlantis. That group of people became known as the Illuminati, with Savage serving as its leader, then and ever since. When Olympia informs Savage that there's a incoming problem coming from space, he asks if it's a meteorite. He actually meant to say "meteoroid", because a meteorite is piece of a meteoroid that survives the fall through the atmosphere and crashes on Earth. The only people who knew about Superman’s infection were a group of heroes that were nearly forgotten. How forgotten were they? They were so forgotten, they were called the Forgotten Heroes. Now, that’s forgotten!

Wally West, the latest hero to be called the Flash, realizes Vandal Savage is hiding under the alias of Burt Villers, an art dealer. The two have a brief battle. [21] Soon afterward, one of Savage's scientific projects leads to the creation of Velocity 9, a highly-addictive drug that imbues a person with superhuman speed. Savage releases this drug to criminals who then perform high-speed crimes, but the Velocity 9 causes accelerated aging and severe strokes. The Velocity 9 scheme is thwarted by Wally West. [22] Later on, Wally's friend and fellow Teen Titans founder Roy Harper (known as Arsenal) is revealed to be one of Savage's descendants. [23] DC was banking on great things for Wally and the very first villain the new Flash would face was none other than Vandal Savage. It took years for many DC villains to make their first appearance e in the post-Crisis world, but not Savage, who was front and center in this new Flash’s very first, and very important, adventure. Foreign Chemical Immunity: Vandal Savage’s superhuman healing factor also affords him the immunity to all poisons and most drugs. It is virtually impossible for him to become intoxicated. Dr. Curtis Knox's initials are "C.K", just like Clark Kent's. This is an homage to Dean Cain's role as Clark Kent on Lois and Clark (on that show, "C.K" is what Jimmy Olsen called Clark Kent ).Expert Marksman: Vandal Savage is a highly proficient marksman and can throw most projectile weaponry with great aim. Vandal Savage appears in Young Justice, voiced by Miguel Ferrer in the first two seasons and subsequently by David Kaye following Ferrer's death. This version is the leader of the Light, Project Cadmus' board of directors, and a Mongolian Cro-Magnon from the Pleistocene who became immortal following an encounter with a cave bear that left him with three claw marks on his face. In the 10th and 13th centuries, Savage encountered and formed alliances with Klarion the Witch Boy and Darkseid respectively and went on to become the ancestor of Nabu and the Homo magi and Atlantean races through his grandson Arion. As of the present, he and Klarion, among others, founded the Light based on a survival of the fittest mentality, with Savage believing that the Justice League is stopping humanity from evolving further.
