The other noticeable thing is the missing aperture ring. Fujifilm X Series cameras are known for their classic look and feel, and something I now really like about the Fujifilm lenses is the aperture rings. I rarely shoot in any mode other than aperture priority and almost always at the widest possible aperture. The lens is accompanied by the usual front and end caps and plastic lens hood, which seems very durable and doesn't add any considerable length to the lens, keeping it quite discreet for street photography. With a full frame equivalent focal length of 84mm, this is what most consider to be the ideal portrait photography focal length. Lens Feature As evidenced by the 'DC' designation of these new lenses, they're designed for APS-C image sensors. On a Fujifilm X Series camera, the 16mm, 30mm and 56mm lenses are equivalent to roughly 24mm, 45mm and 84mm primes, offering wide-angle, standard and short telephoto focal lengths. The angle of view provided by each lens is 83.2, 50.7 and 28.5 degrees, respectively.

Full weather sealing doesn’t only have to do with you going out in the rain, it means there is better build quality and the product will last longer.
Naturally, it’s not all about sharpness. When using a wide aperture to gain a tight depth of field, the bokeh, or quality of defocused areas, can be equally important. The Sigma excels here again, with a wonderfully soft bokeh and a nicely smooth transition between focused and defocused areas. An added bonus is that there’s extremely little axial chromatic aberration, even when shooting wide-open. In this respect, it performs rather better than the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Contemporary lens. No dedicated aperture ring, which is just a personal preference, and doesn't affect the lens performance in any way at all. No OIS, but again, due to the compact size and weight of the lens your camera IBIS will take care of this. Final Thoughts The 56mm f1.4 also scored highly in term sod optical performance. The images it produces are superb, and in every way, I feel this lens compares very favorably with what Fujifilm offers. The short version is this: if Fuji release a fast prime in the 70mm vicinity, I’d rather have that. But compared to any other long lens available for fuji bodies, this is hands down my favourite option.” All three of these lenses have been optimized for use with Fujifilm X-mount camera systems. As I expected, the barrel has a nice large rubberized focus ring that gives the lens a nice grippy and durable feel.
