In simultaneous Raw and JPEG capture we were only able to record two frames before the camera started to lock up. Once everything is set up, you start filming by hitting the Live View/Record button on the back of the camera.

Those considering replacing their 1000D with this updated model should note that their current batteries will not work with the 1100D. There is a built-in microphone for mono recording, but you can't connect an external microphone for stereo recording. One Shot AF is equivalent to AF-S, while AI Servo is the same thing as AF-C on other manufacturers' models. The 1100D takes a series of familiar-sounding components and folds them together in a distinctly conventional but still capable-sounding package. There is an option to suit every taste in the picture modes, but not too many to baffle the photographer. As we mentioned above, it’s not possible to use any kind of AF while the camera is being used to record movies.
