About this deal

This allows you to record up to 4K content directly to an SD card of your choice with just the touch of a button. Being able to offload that encoding to a separate device is a useful option, and well worth exploring. The material on this site may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, cached or otherwise used, except with the prior written permission of CGMagazine.

To capture video directly onto a PC using the 4K Capture Utility, or stream using software such as OBS Studio, connect a USB cable to the 4K60 S+ USB port labeled 'USB' and connect the other end to a Windows PC. I'll be honest; I think it's a bit strange that Corsair's first attempt at stand-alone recording after it acquired Elgato would have such a high barrier to entry. For power users, it's nice having access to configure these settings, but having to edit a text file to do so seems a bit . But if you have a specific setup which you don't wish to have change, you can specify a specific device.

In testing at the CGMagazine offices, the delay was upwards of 200ms, so you may want to put a delay on your microphone and webcam to match your gameplay if streaming.

HDMI is backwards compatible, meaning Xbox Series X/S can output video to devices that do not feature HDMI 2. At the time of writing this guide in March, 2020, VEGAS Pro 17 has the most complete end to end HDR support with easy setup. Yes, regardless of which Elgato capture device you own, you'll be able to capture your Xbox Series X/S gameplay on day one.Instant Gameview is essentially a near delay-less preview of your gameplay, which is great if you only have a single monitor to work with.
