About this deal

I know its an old thread but has anyone found a supplier of the Original Feu Orange air fresheners yet? Feu orange was so 'of the era', and I have a real hankering for one (especially now I know I can't get one! Now if they were taken off the shelves and replaced by a crappy upstart, I believe riots would begin. Back in the day my Dad worked for Polco and was responsible for bringing the Feu Orange to the UK so you can thank him for the memories and the stained dashboards from leaky air fresheners. We found that the tiny trial tins of Coca Cola were the best next to the checkout because it made the cans pee a fine stream of sticky pop nobody could see.

id imagine theyve probably been withdrawn from sale because the H+FS nazis think most people these days arent capable of sticking a pin into something without slipping and jamming it into they're eyeball or something. like the rest of you I have looked time and time again in Halfords for the ORIGINAL type with goldie looking chain attached can I find one. Having had a certain brand of modern liquid car air freshener that leaked and melted an airvent and damaged the radio surround, never again will I go near one of them. I want to get in the car and be reminded of drinking too much fizzy orange pop and throwing up on the way to flamingoland as a kid.

The smell of Feu orange transports me straight back to the late 80s when I was very young and going on holiday in my aunties mk3 Escort, good times. I once hid a whole ripe Brie under the dashboard of someone's Transit over a long hot Bank holiday weekend. So the brand belongs to Kraco, the product belongs to Polco and believe me it would seem the twain shall never meet. The smell itself really takes me back to my uncles Rover P4; if I close my eyes it feels like the 80’s again. Happened to remark to a mate that they don't smell much but seem last a long time as I'd had this one for several weeks. Could some one let me know who makes them and I will ask the company maketing department if they have any left or if they are going to make them again.

Or at least an explanation as to why they had to change such a winning formula - thousands of '80s cabbies can't be wrong! The conclusion many arrived at is that the truly original Feu Orange, would be far too dangerous to produce in the more enlightened times we are living in now and couldn't possibly be supplied with a pin, and potential seepage of the highly concentrated liquid essence stripping paint from Volkswagen dashboards. EU8 civic type S - MG ZT cdti - R56 MINI Cooper S - Audi A3 8p - Jaguar XF (X250) - FN2 Civic Type R - Mk2 2. Might apeal to those who love their fake carbon, but to anyone wanting the retro look of the original.Made up of the ten most unforgettable odours from life behind the wheel, the fragrance is designed to give a real ‘lived-in feel’ for classic car lovers who use modern cars for their day-to-day motoring. My 80's classic is missing this important accessory :-)They are not made any more, the original manufacturer Polco retained the product rights, whereas the brand name was bought out by Kraco, who make the horrible plastic vent versions. I saw that there was an attempt to do a pin-less version with a plastic puncturing tool but that never sold as well. This smell will take any car enthusiast back to the good old days, even if you're driving a 61 plate Ford Focus.

If I could find a stash of these beauties I'd snap them up in an instant, that smell is authentic motoring yesteryear. It's faded (more like Feu P*ss Yellow now) but I'm looking forward to inhaling its old-fashioned orange-grovey goodness. The scent of old leather was found to be the most enduring aroma and was mentioned by nearly half (49%) of participants, who reminisced about 'burnt legs on hot seats' caused by 'weekend runs to the coast in the summer'. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response and interest in helping us to create the ultimate ‘Old Car Smell’ and are delighted with the final fragrance. Named ‘Old Car Smell’, the scent is based on the results of a nationwide social media campaign launched by Channel 4 Car SOS presenter Fuzz Townshend in partnership with the classic vehicle division of insurance brokers Carole Nash.

They are a small scented gel stick that clips on behind the tiny plastic traffic light and slots into your air vent. Just listening to 70's music and reading this topic and everything was just taking me back to those times of being a kid with the scent of the orange filling the car, wearing shorts in summer and burning my legs on the seat. It took me flipping ages to track this little lot down and I will be using them, sparingly, in future projects.
