About this deal

Those 2-pin connectors are buried deep in their copper shells and you will need to apply a higher force to detach that cable. Thankfully, the Gems do this without all-too-common unpleasantly harsh-sounding peakiness and remain natural and fairly smooth throughout the audible frequency range. With very few tracks music appeared rather bright and harsh compared to a smoother sounding Meze RAI Solo, but it wasn’t that bothersome in the long run. The upper midrange of the Ikko OH10 has a highlighted tuning and shows a good level of extension and resolution. The surface of the monitor shell has a titanium coating that is used on the outside of the chamber to prevent scratching and to inhibit bacterial growth.

IKKO Audio is a Chinese earphone manufacturer with a mission to provide high fidelity music for music lovers in a way that integrates with the current digital era and provide a natural, comfortable experience. Power wise, start dancing around as you can drive these with pretty much everything that has a headphone jack, yep even smartphones, tablets and laptops are more than capable of cracking your eardrums. The Ikko OH10 offers a lively and pleasant to listen to sound experience and fairly natural timbre with instruments such like cymbals, snare drums up to pianos electric guitars, thanks to the nicely highlighted upper midrange area. Rather than a pair of IEMs that I can only use on occasion with a few specific artists, I have found the OH10s to offer a good sound and perspective on everything from jazz to blues-rock, and acoustic tracks to vintage prog. Anything that sounded truly good in 2019 will still sound truly good in 2023 and the Ikko OH10s sound truly good to my ears. The lower mids has more bodies in comparison, while the upper midrange sound slightly backward, with better transparency level. This shows that the main thing in fitting is the ergonomic design of the earpieces and not their weight. It’s an engaging sound signature that reminds me of the experience of listening to good monitor speakers, rather than massive subwoofers. They are medium to drive, any high quality DAP will do just fine, like the Shanling M3X, FiiO M11, or iBasso DX150.

It offers an impressive bass response with some entertaining subbass rumble and good level of resolution. The bass has enough substance and presence to contrast the stronger treble, and this makes OH10 pretty much the perfect IEM for rock, metal, classical, acoustic. The upper mids has more rounded presentation, and sound even more natural, the midrange has better level of transparency. They didn’t try to reinvent the wheel here but opted instead to make incremental improvements in some key areas, especially technical performance. OH10 and Bass are besties for life, you can’t separate them, they were made for each other, their bond is too strong and I’m yet to hear a deeper and a harder bass slam in an affordable IEM.

The treble are pretty similar, but it extended further, and sound significantly smoother but more detail in comparison. On the inside, a platinum coating is added, which, while retaining the full bodied and powerfulsound, it also makes it cleaner and more transparent. Reddit and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide you with a better experience. Vocals are positioned nicely in the mix, they don’t sound too thin or overly recessed like some typical V-shaped IEM’s. You get the same repetitiveness of Tool, some of the grittiness of Leprous and bass slams of Soen, all in a fresh and abstract look towards the genre.
