About this deal

My daughter is 5 and she did a song and dance at school for the Queen's Jubilee in June this year and has asked me a lot about the Queen lately following her funeral on 19th September which has also sadly coincided with the passing of her grandad so we have been able to use this book to talk about the positives too. Unlike her grandchildren today who are being raised in the shadow of what’s ahead, the first decade of Elizabeth’s life was carefree, with little understanding nor expectation of a royal destiny. Queen Elizabeth spent all her life serving her people, putting always them first, and that is surely admirable. The book also shows the importance of her marriage to Phillip and her dedication to her family, as well as the country. Heck, even though the book ends prior to her death, two of her corgis (not to mention one of her horses) made an appearance at the state funeral recently.

As a woman she was a outnumbered with few female influencers, when the world was dominated by men, in a man’s world. Queen Elizabeth is written by the creator of this edition Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara and is accompanied by charming pictures by Melissa Lee Johnson. This game is a simple and entertaining way to help sharpen your child’s memory, concentration, recognition and matching skills while also helping them learn more about these inspiring female leaders. She studied Visual Communication at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and illustration at the University of the Arts Berlin, where she is based now. I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers. These editions always include a biography of a couple of hundred words with a recommendation for further reading and with four black and white photos. The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.

Meet three inspirational women from the world of music: Ella Fitzgerald, Dolly Parton, and Josephine Baker! This is a good opportunity to spend time with children discussing what happens when events, out of our control, occur and cause our journey to take a different direction. She is inspired by the weird and wonderful, clashing colours, the natural world, history, fashion and folklore. Exclusive to Tesco, this lovely hardback book is the perfect way to explain to children why The Queen deserves to be celebrated. Part of the Little People, Big Dreams series, cleverly written by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara and always memorably illustrated throughout. Printed withgold gilded page edgesand with aninterior reading ribbon, this luxury keepsake treasurymakes the perfect gift. Her commitment, dedication and discipline to the role that was put upon her from such a young age was admirable.
