Vegeta falls to Buu after his revival, and notably Goku doesn't even bother fighting Buu in the form, opting to take it a step further, with a new transformation and fusion alternatively when the options presented themselves note Goku does fight Kid Buu in Super Saiyan 2 in the anime for some reason, presumably a warm up, and the kind of fusion Goku learned is never used by him in the series, so he goes through the Potara method instead presented by Old Kai. When Gohan arrives to fight Super Buu, he dominates the fight handily (without even needing to use ki blasts of any form).
