About this deal

The more recent Redux version was an interesting listen, but even if I did like that remix better it had too little dynamics in comparison. Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased.

Pearl Jam - Ten (Reissue) Pearl Jam - Ten (Reissue)

With the exception of the Nat King Cole green vinyl Christmas album all of the colored vinyl I have bought at Target sounds great. Easily one of the quietest records I own, and absolutely needs to be repressed on 2xLP at some point. You're one of the very few people I've come across who actually realizes that there was no Ten on domestic vinyl until 1994! Based on all the negative reaction towards the original Dutch release, I'm guessing that one was done quickly and without much care.I am not sure whether it was meant to be a promo (no such sticker on it) or to be discarded, but was eventually rescued and sold on second-hand market. But it's a typical MPO pressing, despite a wet clean there's a constant level of surface noise, which is noticable during the quiet parts. However, if I had an OG pressing, I'd probably find myself listening dutifully on my headphones to the sonic magic! At times, it's a bit overwrought ("I don't question our existence/ I just question our modern needs"), but the earnestness with which Vedder sang and the band played these songs belies the decade's reputation as a period of pervasive irony. was the first Pearl Jam album to come out on vinyl in America - pretty sure that was released a week before the tape/cd, just like Vitalogy.

Pearl Jam – Ten (2022, Vinyl) - Discogs

Suspicious of the hedonism of the arena rock that preceded them, Pearl Jam were a solemn band, and Ten sounds nothing if not entirely serious about animating Vedder's self-doubts. This version had the lacquer cut at Nashville Record Productions Inc, cut by Wes Garland "WG/NRP" and pressed by United Record Pressing as differentiated by matrix/runout.This reissue is fine if you just want to listen to Pearl Jam and not pick apart the small inaccuracies of an average vinyl pressing.

Ten Club was born from the remains of the Mother Love Bone Earth Affair - a fan organization started by Pearl Jam in 1990 as a way for the band to give back to their fans and create a community around Pearl Jam's music. Though I'm normally against remixing, the '90s sound of the original mix is somewhat tamed and the vinyl version sounds so much better than the compressed cd version. I'm listening through what I consider a basic TT set up,I have a 1978 Technics SL-B2 Belt Drive TT and a 2005 Harmon Kardon Receiver playing through 2 DCM floor speakers and also 2 DCM book shelf speakers, with basic speaker wire,no serious gold or silver wire. It was such a tease having a bright shiny copy in my hands but then realizing it was warped and causing songs to skip! It's one of my all time favorite albums but I have to wait for some good release, until now I enjoy still my CD version. So you could also end up getting it essentially for free if you purchase it along with two other equal or more expensive items. This afternoon I received my Target Exclusive copy of Pearl Jam's Ten Purple Vinyl in the mail (I believe the same mastering as the 2017 SST).
