The Talisker distillery has changed hands only once since this period, after Diageo added Talisker to its considerable portfolio. We review Talisker Distillers Edition 2023, a 10-year-old Scotch single malt finished in Amoroso-seasoned casks. Not only is the release bottled ay 57% alcohol by volume, but the Talisker distillery itself is located on the globe at 57° 17′ . This tremendous Talisker joins Diageo's 2022 Special Release lineup following 11 years of maturing in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. With this non-age-statement release, it is more than simply the higher alcohol content that is intriguing. This review will focus on the Talisker 10-year-old core expression finished in Amoroso-seasoned casks. It matured in a sherry butt for 11 years until it was bottled by Hunter Laing for its The Old Malt Cask series in 2022.
