It’s not perfect, and there are a few things I would change about it, but I’d say the Les Paul Special VE is definitely worth the money. The guitar was here in just two days and the job performed by the guys at Sweetwater (intonation and setting as well as the change of strings ) was perfect.

If you are not adverse to going used, I would suggest a used Epiphone G400 paired with a used Fender Mustang I or II. Tuning this instrument is fast and reliable thanks to the Epiphone Premium Covered tuners with a 14:1 ratio. The finish is a little darker than I expected, but I can live with that-especially since that finish is so good. It’s simple enough that it just works, but it definitely has some neat adjustments you can do to set it up to your own personal standards.I also read in some reviews that the strings needed to be substituted so I bought along with the guitar a set of Ernie Ball "Slinkys" .
