This book uses throughout, action/rhythm words in general teaching use (but essential to the Dalcroze method), what a shame this book's system fails with the minim! An ideal first book for beginners with lots of short easy tunes to get children playing straight away.The Fiddle Time Starters book is a very good start for the young to start learning how to play the Violin, it is very easy to follow and has a few songs to get you going.

The Starters books provide a thorough academic approach that supports the early years of learning up until the end of Joggers, and the Starters and Joggers books work well when used together. I love the way this book incorporates each fundamental point of technique within a very memorable/ traditional or collectively known rhyming song. This will then enable you to use the tracks in digital format if your venue does not have a CD player available.

Perhaps they’ve practised consistently well, completed a particular piece, played in a school concert or completed a Fiddle Time Book! With tunes, quizzes and games, it covers introductory points such as how to hold the instrument and bow, though to notation and musical pieces in a range of styles.This was recommended to me by the violin teacher - to be honest I don't have much experience with violin books but having a quick flick through it seems pretty good! A beautiful collection for students of the violin to discover and enjoy … an absolute gem of a book.
