Whether you’re a fan of the series or not, one glimpse at her pitch-black sails and ebony hull is enough to make your knees wobble and blood run cold! I know first hand experience that it’s very difficult to photograph a black model, and they did a fine job of it (of course, they’ve mastered the art) but why make all the box so dark?

Like I said though it can be fixed with moving the button piece on the end of the rope piece further up on the grey 4x1 flat piece on the upper mast. Some of the Minifigs that are in this set (are actually) from the Crew of the Flying Dutchman (this is Davy Jones boat/ship). While the Queen Anne’s Revenge was a pretty cool ship, where was the Black Pearl, Captain Jack Sparrow’s beloved ship?

Because this set was the early work of Lepin, you could pretty much throw the minifigures away as the quality wasn’t that good. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

Then things changed and toys got “safe”, fingers weren’t burned, cannons stopped firing and kids were sad.With 804 pieces and two instruction booklets, this LEGO set is a challenging project to construct and a perfect project which should be plain sailing for more advanced LEGO builders. It's a good choice as a gift for a teen, as reccomended by LEGO rating, but for an AFOL it's quite easy to build and unfortunately you'll finish with it too fast. Davy belongs aboard his own ship, the Flying Dutchman (which hopefully will come to the POTC line someday as well). The minifigs look very similar to their movie counterparts - it is amazing how they do this with the same mold of plastic (body hands legs) and some kind of different head gear (hat, hammer head, wig and caps).

Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. For you know when you see a ghost ship, a trouble is on the horizon… in other words, Undead Pirates!The theme consists of nine sets covering all four movies and includes LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. Jack the monkey would have also been an excellent addition to the set, and I would happily lose one minifig for that.
