Some chapters contain relevant stories from the times of the Prophets, while other chapters tell stories of influential people in the Western World. Nice short chapters so you can read it without feeling bogged down, which is useful when depressed and don't want to read lots.Whenever I feel stuck or something, I pick this one up and I open any random page, and Voila; I have found reassurance. While this actually is not one of my favourite books, I would definitely read it again if I was feeling a bit down or depressed. I gleaned whatever I found to be pertinent to the topic of the book from these sources: Verses of the Qur’an, sayings of the Prophet (bpuh), stories, parables, poems, and sayings of the wise. In a time of pervasive trials, “Don’t Be Sad” draws on Allah’s commandments, the Sunnah, and the wisdom of past Muslims.
