About this deal

Hadid also held chairs and guest professorships at various universities worldwide, including Columbia, Harvard, Yale and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid (31 October 1950 – 31 March 2016) was a British Iraqi architect, artist and designer, recognised as a major figure in architecture of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. This comprehensive volume of over two hundred projects – from the earliest experimentations to product design, from speculative follies to large-scale built works, including the London Aquatics Centre, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul and the Dominion Office Building in Moscow – is a testament to the depth, range and excitement of her vision.

With signature sophistication in the design, and superbly creative structures, Zaha Hadid led her firm to create transformative, cultural, corporate and residential spaces that entered into complete synchronicity with their surrounding environment. I always want the students in my classroom to know about different careers, different obstacles people face, and different ways of thinking. It's abundantly clear that her family supported her dreams, aspirations and imagination, nurturing her and giving her the space to breathe and create. Also, the illustrations were wonderful really bringing to life the feeling of shape and movement that Zaha saw and placed in her designs.Born back in 1985, the Basic Art Series has evolved into the best-selling art book collection ever published. This practice is driven by the development of rigorous interfaces between natural topographies, human-made systems and innovative technologies that have resulted in almost 1000 landmark projects across the globe. This delightful series (Little People, Big Dreams) introduces young readers to outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists. Meet Emmeline Pankhurst—the leader of the Suffragettes—in this book and paper doll gift edition set. Aaron Betsky is dean of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and a former director of the Cincinnati Art Museum.

I was delighted to learn about Zaha Hadid and after finishing the book, I had to immediately look up the museum in Cincinnati that she designed. Meet Emmeline Pankhurst, an inspiring women's rights activist who changed the world for future generations of women. Prepared in collaboration with the architect's office, this comprehensive survey of over 200 projects - from the earliest experimentations to product design, from speculative follies to large-scale built works - is a testament to the depth, range and excitement of her vision. At the time of her unexpected death in 2016, Hadid was firmly established among the elite of world architecture, recognized as the first woman to win both the Pritzker Prize for architecture and the RIBA Royal Gold Medal, but above all as a giver of new forms, the first great architect of the noughties.Throughout her training at London's Architectural Association, and her work with Rem Koolhaas at OMA, to the establishment of her own worldwide architectural practice, Zaha Hadid has been acclaimed for her vanguard architectonic language. This long awaited first monograph on one of the world's most important architects collects Hadid's entire oeuvre-more than 80 built and unbuilt projects over 20 years- in one significant volume. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Hadid studied mathematics as an undergraduate and then enrolled at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in 1972.
