BOSS’s Tube Logic architecture delivers the same output distortion you’d expect from authentic tube amps. However, both the feel and sound increase in responsiveness and richness when you decide to increase the volume. A variable power control ensures you’ll find the perfect middle ground between being too overpowering, or too quiet. Absolute Character You can save your custom settings in the onboard Tone Setting memories. Eight Tone Settings are available, (Two banks of Four) and are easily recalled via the GA-FC Foot Controller. Inputs, Outputs On the front panel, you’ll find some exclusive features only available with the Katana-Artist MkII. A three-way Contour switch lets you shape the amp's core tone, while three selectable Global EQ settings (adjustable in BOSS Tone Studio) are great for fine-tuning the overall sound for different guitars and styles. A foot-controllable, post-amp Solo boost function is also available, with a dedicated panel knob for fast adjustment. Integrated Dual Amp Support The Katana Version 4 update brings some great new features derived from the next-generation Katana MkII series. Heavy Octave, Stereo Delay, and Pan Delay effects have been added, along with a dedicated Pedal FX section that makes it easier to set up foot-controlled wah and pedal bend. In addition, a Katana-Artist or other 100-watt Katana model can now be used as a slave amp with the Katana MkII’s powerful Stereo Expand feature, allowing you to create wide, expansive tones with stereo-compatible effects distributed across both amps. Cleans are bright and spanky, sounding excellent with our Strat, spiced up with a touch of delay and reverb from the on-board effects. The crunch can be tamed with reverb and careful use of the extended Tone Studio parametric EQ, for excellent multi-purpose lead and rhythm tones that clean up nicely from the guitar’s volume control.

The optional GA-FC foot controller is the perfect partner for the Katana-Artist MkII—it connects with a single cable, requires no external power, and has a slim, rugged profile that takes up minimal space. With six footswitches, you can recall Tone Settings and turn the five effects sections on/off. The GA-FC also supports external footswitches and expression pedals, with default assignments that include tap tempo, bank selection, foot volume, and Pedal FX. Assignments can be customized via BOSS Tone Studio, including pedal control of up to three parameters at once. An updated look and a streamlined interface lead to a more efficient workflow. Shape the cabinet emulation with five onboard Air Feel settings (three presets and two settings configurable in Boss Tone Studio). Accessible from the BOSS Tone Studio, the direct sound can be shaped with three different Air Feel Settings. Gig Controller Line, USB, and phones/recording outputs feature mic'd cabinet emulation, lets you send mix-ready amp tones to a PA system, DAW, or headphones.

With a focus on clear sound, the Katana Artist Mk2 has been specifically voiced for optimum response between the speaker and cab. Diverse Amp Characters and Effects So on the amp itself you have direct control over effects levels, which is really all you need, but tweakers need not worry as the Katana’s software app provides more than enough gratification with, typically, six parameters to play with on most effects. Pre-set counters will have already worked out the Katana Artist can hold 15 different effects including reverbs; you can choose from no less than 58 different models in the latest Version 2 software and load them into the amp, which can use up to three simultaneously. There are four patch select buttons with an A/B bank select switch, which access the Artist’s eight on-board memory slots when the foot controller isn’t in use. Dual Link makes it straightforward to use two Katana-Artist MKII’s as a pair. Both can be individually configured with their own unique setups. You can then take control of both using a foot controller, blending and swapping between completely contrasting tones on the fly. Or, use Stereo Expand to operate one as the master unit, with the other a slave. When using stereo compatible effects (reverb, delay, chorus etc) this creates an all-encompassing wall of sound projected from both amps. The Katana-50MKII may well be the most compact combo, however, the KTN-100MKII, KTN-100/212MKII (offering a warmer, richer and more punch tone than the 1x12), KTN-ARTISTMKII are 100W combos that each have an effects loop (for using pedals directly into the poweramp stage - ie RC Loopers, 200 Series, 500 Series and delays/modulation effects), Stereo Expand for setting up a stereo rig, Record Out/Speaker output simultaneously, presence dial optimising your overall EQ in realtime to suit any musical environment, 8 patch locations and a larger 12" speaker cone giving a richer/fuller tone.
