I don’t know about miles per gallon, but Bill had a very heavy driving style in those boots and he got through a couple of clutches in a series! This series is top notch, set in Yorkshire in the 1960s with a wonderful soundtrack of British Invasion Hits, and centered in the village of Aidensfield , featuring the local police force, the medical staff and the village pub (and local colorful characters). I do wish that she had some more glamorous outfits though - she's very tweedy when she goes to work.
